22" Max height ???

Technically, it's each section that's limited to 22". So,
with Header and Footer it could be 66"

Hi, Marsh.

Thanks for the correction. I totally forgot about the other sections of the
form. The form has a form header/footer and a page header/footer, so that's
five sections that can expand to 22 inches each. That would be 110 inches
total length available in the Design View. However, in Form View only the
Detail section is scrollable on my computer, but only if the other sections
are small. If the other sections are large enough, then the Detail
section -- the most important section! -- doesn't even show up.

Is there a form property or properties that I'm not setting correctly? I'm
using Access 2003.

If only 22 inches is scrollable in Form View, the rest of the sections put
together don't add much to the usable length of the form. (About five
vertical inches on my monitor, but this leaves only enough vertical space
for one text box in the Detail section, which most users would probably find
far more aggravating to scroll through than useful.)

this?

Sorry Gunny, I didn't mean to imply that the space would be
usable and send you off on a wild goose chase ;-) I can't
imagine a reason for doing it, but I think(?) it the whole
thing would show up if you printed the form :-\

I just ran a simple test on an unbound form and I couldn't
get form view to go over 10.3 inches high, so at best there
would be an awful lot of scrolling :-(

What do you say we just call this silly exercise a waste of
time. I won't even wonder why Jeff would want to do such a
thing.

No but most people don't like scrolling around on a page and tabs look nice.

Well, until you mentioned it, I'd completely forgotten about the header and
footer sections, and that one could put controls in these sections as well,
and then scroll through the Detail section for the rest of the controls on
the form. So 22 inches is not the absolute limit.

Agreed! And when this question comes up in the next game of Trivial
Pursuit, we'll know the answer, so it wasn't a _total_ waste of time! ;-)

As you mentioned, printing the entire form comes to mind, but if printing is
the intention, then it's best for Jeff to format a report for printing,
instead.

HTH.
