200gig showing as a 32gb

ok i was trying to wipe/restore a Hdd after a failed xp install
all went well and after another fail
i was playing with hirem's or ultimate boot cd
(maybe ghost but thing it was fdisk of some sort)
i set all values at "max" option and showed at 32gigs and change
btw running(temp) a gigabyte AMD MPX cipset dual processor board
with 1 2400 mobile(freakin sweet chip) @2000mHz and under 35*
133fsb/266system bus
temp win98(blue screen is a coming)
ati 7500 all in wonder
no sound (exepts under linux liveCD/DVD)
promise raid off
256mb(mem should be in soon) nonECC
on board lan active
what else ya need on info

and i want to wipe the format/part and install corectly prob via xp disk
 
You need to format your drive NTFS.

The Windows XP CD is bootable and contains all the tools necessary
to partition and format your drive. Follow this procedure and allow
Windows XP to partition and format your drive:

NOTE: It would be best to physically disconnect all your peripheral hardware
devices, except the monitor, mouse and keyboard, before installing XP.

NOTE: If you have an internal Zip Drive installed, physically disconnect the
EIDE and power cable to it before proceeding, otherwise your main
hard drive may not be assigned the customary C: drive letter.
After installing Windows XP, you may then reconnect it.

1. Open your BIOS and set your "CD Drive as the first bootable device".

2. Insert your Windows XP CD in the CD Drive and reboot your computer.
3. You'll see a message to boot to the CD....follow the instructions.
4. The setup menu will appear and you should elect to delete all the existing
Windows partitions, then create a new partition, then format the primary
partition (preferably NTFS) and proceed to install Windows XP.

5. Clean Install Windows XP

6. ==> Immediately after installing Windows XP, turn on XP's Firewall.

8. After installing the critical updates, be sure and visit the support website
of the manufacturer of the computer to download and install any
available Windows XP compatible drivers, such as video adapter
and audio drivers.

Probs a 'Duh' moment but have you checked or altered the external jumpe
settings on the drive? Often large drives can be set to only allow
portion of the drive to be used. I have a 120Gb which can be set to
32Gb

---this was the way i first done it and worked but after moving all
files(prescanned w/panda active scan/avg) it went plop corrupt data
...showing random color blocks and symbols on the pre-boot screens an no
loading windows

---oh he**** NO XP firewall is FLAWED it allows XP to chat freely, being
the MAJOR security problem(XP)/means of attack and only blocks incoming
selected "attacks" ... so if you open a malicious code or the windows sub-
system's sec holes allows a worm thru YOU are spreading it to EVERYONE ELSE

---try sygate personal firewall free and VERY effective

support website

"slipstreamed" SP1 (or SP2) XP install CD.

def a "DUH DAAA" moment
i tryed my sp1 holo disk,sp2 slipped various SW both main and alternate
jumper settings
well had to use datalifeguard(and or DDO) and single(no jumper) drive
got it had to use my holo disk
oh well now for the 5000 half ass updates from macro$hit
