CAN the nearly unusable and flawed Outlook 2007 be replaced with another
email software, even a MS product, and function in place of it in a corp
server scenario?

In an Exchange environment? You can use Outlok 2003, if you like, but
you'll lose the integration features like mail merge, automatic spell check
and grammar checking. You can use any IMAP or POP client you want, too, but
you won't have any calendaring, journaling, or task management. Your
contacts will all be local as well, without a global address list , unless
you can use LDAP to your Active Directory.

Well, my entire company uses Outlook 2007 just fine and has since before
it was released, so I'm tempted to question your premise.

As for your question...you'd have to tell us exactly what a "corp server
scenario" means in order for us to give you an accurate answer.

There are other e-mail products out there, if that's your question.
