The latest announcement has been 2nd half of 2005 - so anytime between
July 1st and Dec 31st. That said I would guess it will be post September

I was putting off ordering the beta, but I'd like to get a look at the
new features, especially those dealing with unmanaged code (C++/CLI).

Have any VS beta users had trouble with it coexisting with VS 2003?

PS: Is the full VS 2005 beta available for download, or does this
need to be shipped from MS. I know the individual C#/C++/etc
compilers can be DL'd, but I'm not sure if those are commandline-
only. I'm looking for the full Visual Studio dev environment.

Thanks

You either need an MSDN subscription, or you just pay for media and they
will mail it to you.

And your other question about playing well with 2K3 - I've had absolutely no
problems whatsoever. I've actually spent quite a bit of time working with
2K5 and dare I say, Beta 1 is not bad at all.. I actually haven't had one
thing go wrong.

Microsoft has CERTAINLY raised thier standards about what is ok to release.
I remember in the old days when a "beta" was barely usable and the release
was buggy. Now, the betas are pretty solid and the releases are rock-solid.
