2000 or 2002 format for me?

Hi All,

I'm developing an application in Access 2002. I have all the
devolper tools, and ultimately plan to compile the thing to an mde and ship
it out with the runtime stuff.
I've left the database format as Access 2000, as I wanted to be able
to do development when I traveled, on a laptop with Acess 2000. I don't
have this need anymore.
Is there a compelling reason for me to stay with the Access 2000
format, or to switch to the Access 2002 format?

I am under the impression that you cannot create an Access 2000-format MDE
with Access 2002, in any case. I see no reason not to change to Access 2002
format, if you no longer have the need to be able to do development in an
Access 2000 environment.

It's fine to develop in the A2000 format, but you will need to convert to
the A2002 format before you can create the MDE file from Access 2002.

I recently made the mistake of thinking that because the A2002/A2003 file
format is the same, I could create an MDE in A2003 and use it in an A2002
runtime. Doesn't work. Although the JET file format is the same, the VBA is
different, so if the MDE has any code at all, A2002 cannot use the MDE
created with A2003.
