When I create a new message and select the account to send from the email
contains the default account address not the selected address. If I reply to
a message I still get the default address in the reply instead of the sent to
address. Any ideas?

are they two totally different pop accounts and have an account set up in
outlook you use to collect mail from each account?

What version of Outlook do you have?

Guys,

Sorry for the delay in responding.
I am using Office 2003 on an XP Pro platform.

I have rebuilt the PC from scratch as I ended up with a further problem
stopping me emailing from Outlook in total (though receiving was OK). I found
the MS error report for this fault apparently related to the Office Service
pack that I installed in an attempt to remedy the first problem. As there was
no planned release date for a correction to this issue I decided on a
re-build.

It appears, based upon tests to date, that email is now working correctly
after the complete rebuild of the PC with 2 email accounts (via POP3).

Regards
Bernard

With Outlook 2003 SP-1, mail may go out the wrong account if the outgoing
server of the account you try to send through requires authentication and
you haven't configured Outlook to authenticate to the outgoing server.
Configuring all accounts to authenticate to their outgoing server will
solve this.

Thankyou Jeff.

It does indeed appear that one of the POP accounts has changed their
requirements to include this authentication of late and I was unaware of this
fact. At least rebuilding the PC has given me the chance to do an overall
cleanup. =:-)

Thankyou for your assistance in researching this issue.
