I just installed Windows XP Pro on a new Hard Drive.
However, when I installed the USB 2.0 drivers for the PCI
USB Card that I installed previously, XP installs the
drivers for it in a 2nd USB Controller category in Device
Manager. How can that be fixed, so there is only 1 USB
Controller category

Regards,

Chris

Boot into Safe Mode, open Device Manager, remove all USB controllers,
reboot, and Windows will re-identify.

I think this is normal because I have 6 USB ports and my
device manager reads 8. Funny thing is, the two extra USB
ports that it reads, have some name by them. I figure
there is something that may be using the USB interface.
WHat though? I don't know.

Chris,

it is possible that the card actually has two USB controllers.
It is also conceivable that there is a second USB controller on
the motherboard. Are you sure you didn't see one before you
installed the card?
