You probably have the wrong mail server name.
Right-click on the error message, copy, then paste it into a
reply here. We can help you better if we see the complete
error message.

If your problem is with the Outlook 2007 program instead of the
Windows Mail program, you're likely to get a better answer in
you ask in newsgroup:

microsoft.public.outlook.general

I'm not aware of any mail provider that does IMAP on port 80.
The error message you included is for SMTP on port 80. I know of
only one mail server that does that, smtpout.secureserver.net.

According to the error message below: "Message cannot be accepted,
spam rejection", the mail server is rejecting your email because of
spam characteristics. You will have to contact the tech support for
that mail server to find out what's going on.

Hi Gary Thank you for any help yo may provide. I am linking Vista Mail with
my cert mail account. Configuring for Certmail Tech has indicated: IMAP, so
on so on...check authentication...so on so on....click finish. Return to
accounts...click properties...click advanced tab and verify that the outgoing
SMTP port is et to 80.
CertMail uses server side SPAM filtering to reduce the amount of SPAM that
is delivered to my mailbox. Now...it is obvious this is not working. With
support on the phone...it was all set up...I got to use it for sending emails
about 12 times before I started getting that error message again. Any
thoughts...My older system worked great...it was Outlook 07. I got the new
system to support my new software which is supported by Vista...otherwise I'd
be back in the good ol' daze... this is beyond me!
Thanks!

I wasn't familiar with CertMail, but I snooped around on their website
and found some email setup instructions:
http://www.certmail.com/faq.aspx?p=4

Looks to me like your Windows Mail settings are correct.
Have you reported that particular error message to CertMail?
It appears to be an issue with their mail server.

Hi Gary That was so kind of you to research CertMail and my issue. Yes, I
have contacted support and they say what anyone would...how can you be
working not change anything and then NOT be working? I am...exasperated. Just
don't get how something so new and as ads indicate...the best
yet...Vista...can be SO not simple and frankly quite a mess. Seems like there
should be some answers to all of these similar issues I am reading about on
this site. Does anyone ever get fixed? Thanks ever so much!

CertMail's point makes sense if you assume that *all* errors are
caused on the client side, but it ignores the possibility that some errors
are caused on the server side. Have they explained to you what that
particular error message means?

Until CertMail gets that server error squared away, you will have to use
a different means for sending, either webmail, or your ISP's SMTP
server, or use Gmail's SMTP server.
