Hi,

Is it possible for 2 sets of independent autonums to exist in a Word
document so that the numbering looks like:

1......
1.......
2.....
2.......
3.....
3.......

The numbers 1,2 and 3 on the left belong to one autonumber set while
the numbers 1, 2 and 3 on the right belong to another. Is that
possible? Thanks.

Mike

You can certainly do this with SEQ fields. Alternatively, you can use
autonumbered styles from different lists. Your best bet on this score is to
set up each list as an outline-numbered list so that you can link the
numbering (Level 1 in both cases) to a specific style and name the list.
Applying the style should result in the next number in the given list. But
if you want alternating numbers that will mirror the number of a previous
style, as illustrated, then SEQ fields alternating with SEQ \c fields might
be a better choice.

Hi,

Could you point me to the sources about your suggested methods?
(Books or websites will be fine) Thank you.
