1. If you run disk check from the tools tab of C: properties does it put a
"log" somewhere and if so where ? All I get is Phases 1, 2, & 3 and
finished with no information, good, bad or indifferent.
2. Does/has anyone use/used the SpyBot S&D System Internals check to find
and or repair things like "wrong app path", "broken links", "wrong uninstall
info", etc., etc.. ? Is this another one of those "registery cleaners" that
most of the MVP's & other experts advise against ?
Help and advice much appreciated. Thanks.

Go to Start > Run and type: eventvwr.msc /s , and hit enter.
When Event Viewer opens, click on "Application", then scroll
down to "Winlogon" and double-click on it. This is the log
created after running Checkdisk.

I've used it for many years and it is a great product!

Thanks, Carey, for replying... But, ummm, there is no "winlogon" shown
under Applications (nor System or Security). Guess I should go run it again
and then check, huh ?
Thanks for the link to System Mechanic, will check it out. Do you use
SpyBot at all, or have you ever used that portion of it - System Internals
check ?
Thanks again...
