2 problems

1. When I right click on the desktop, then properties, I
get a window to set the display, but no tab to choose or
enable a screen saver.

2. When I click on start and then 'help and support'
nothing happens.

Regards #2(maybe#1) Do you happen to have 'EasyCleaner' installed (and used
since you knew things to be working)?

Line 235, left: "restore help and support service"

You might want to reboot after each of these registry tweaks. Couldn't
hurt.
