Sure it is possible to have 2 PCs on a router, one having a modem for
the purposes of faxing.

Yes, it works, it is not the modem you share, it is the Fax setup in the
"printers and faxes" portion of control panel.

....which says on the Sharing tab, "Sharing is not supported for this type of
printer." This phrase does not register in the KB, so...?
