Part I

Is it possible to change the Master slide to include a default background
image for all new PPT? Could I also include a default autoshape?

Part II
How can I PERMANETLY turn off that ANNOYING Auto-CAPITALIZING feature? Not
just for the current PPT but for any and all PPT?

Thanks

Ben,

1)
Create a default "blank" presentation with your own defaults
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00245.htm

2)
Tools menu > autocorrect > autocorrect tab > un tick "capitalize first letter...or as much as you want"

2b) While you are on that menu... click the "autoformat as you type tab"... untick the last 4 objects ... auto this that
the other and the last one

Part I: Whatever you place (image or autoshape) on the Slide Master will appear
on all slides and cannot be removed from them. I doubt this is what you want.
If you are using PowerPoint 2003 or 2002 you can create an additional Slide
Master that doesn't include the image or autoshape and then pick and choose
which Slide Master you want to apply to a particular slide. However, this isn't
possible in PowerPoint 97 or 2000.

Part II: You can go to Tools > AutoCorrect and turn off the Capitalize
settings.
