2 out of 4 speakers work

I have purchased creative 4.1 inspire with sub woofer
speaker system and a zoltrix nightingale 4 channel sound
card. I have windows xp. Now only media player 9 is
playing sound from all the four speakers whereas other
windows events such as games etc and even the sound
control dosen't show any four speakers or play any sound
from the rear speakers. Whereas the sound setting in the
control panel has already been set to quadraphonic
speakers. So please tell me how to make use of enable all
my 4 speakers :-(
