2 nics in xp

I have a problem making 2 nics in xp work. I'm trying to connect 2 other PCs
to a multihomed XP machine using 2 crossover cables but when pinging the 2
machines, i can ping only one of them at a time. Both the other 2 machines
have the same subnet address as the multihomed XP machine. all three are
using xp pro OS.
Can you please help ? Thanks in advance.

Make also sure that all the machines belong to the same workgroup.
