Is it possible to have two different LAN connections with
different settings. Heres the scenario... I use my laptop
at work, to connect to their LAN, but at home I use DSL
through a local carrier. At work I have a static IP and at
home with the DSL I have DHCP. I tried using two different
usernames with a connection in each, but they overwrite
each other. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hello
sure there is just go to Network Connections and right click the one you do
not wish to use and disable it,
click on add a new connection wizard and setup the other connection and be
sure to disable the one you are not connecting to.
then you can configure the properties on each.

I have 3 set up on my daughters laptop, 1 for here at home(wired network) 1
at school(wireless network) and 1 at her friends (dialup)

just be sure to disable the one you are not using so it will know which one
to connect to.

Much easier to create a hardware profile for each connection. Disable the
NIC for the other in each profile. Choose which profile when booting.

Use System Properties, Hardware to do this.
