Hi,
I have 2 systems in the office, both have XP Pro and Word 2003. Both the
same version. They are both attached to the same printer (networked through
one of the computers.) When I produce a document on one computer with text,
text boxes, pictures (imported from file photos and some linked) and tables
and then save it. If I open it again it is just the same but if I open it on
the other computer some of the pictrures are missing and very often the text
is out of alignment or the text box has moved slightly up or down the page
or some of the text within that box has gained a space (a press the enter
key space)

As far as I can see they have all the same settings. Do both normal.dot need
to be the same? What could be causing this problem? It is causing a lot of
stress!
Cheers
Lenny

Thanks for that but both machines are using the same printer and that page
talks about the diffences that occur when a different printer is used. One
machine has the printer installed and it is sharing it's connection with the
other machine that is causing the problems so I guess it can't be the
printer. (There is also a third machine in the office that is also sharing
the printer and there seems to be no problems with that one.

Hi Lenny

Make sure each printer has the same printer driver. Just because they're
sharing the printer doesn't mean they have the same driver, and Word
constantly refers to the printer driver when laying out a document.

And, check Tools > Templates and Add-ins. Make sure that "Automatically
update document styles" is *not* ticked.

Hope this helps.
