TO be honest, not sure where to post this, so i'm just
goin' to general.

I currently have 2 errors, started at same time, and i have
no clue as to the cause.

I am currently running Windows XP-Home

#1) Every time I start up windows, i recieve this error
once the desktop loads:

~

Windows cannot open this file

File: TFTP1180

To open this file , windows needs to know what program
created it. etc etc etc.

what do you want to do?

use web service to find appropriate program

select from program list

~

I click find program, it loads to a page in shell.windows.
com. the page is blank, except for two words in top left,

"Unknown TRUE"

No help.

I have no idea what in the world to do with that.

#2) Since that started, my computer has randomly shut down
due to RPC (dont know anything about that, all it tells me
is about a remote shutdown) i get a 1 minute or so timer,
cant cancel it, and comp restarts. I do nothing to start
this, cant stop it, and dont know how to get rid of it even
showing up.

-----

Neither of those is extremely... fatal as of yet. But the
seecond one is very annoying, and the first.. I'm just
confused as to what that is.

Any help is appreciated...

Joe, you're at least the third person to report this symptom here in the
last two days. I've been watching for a solution but haven't yet seen one.
My guess is a virus. (just a guess)

I've only done one download in the past week or so.

This was the diablo 2:LoD 1.10s beta patch.

im not sure the exact time these errors started. but i
know for a fact that the RCP thing didnt start until the
night after i downlaoded the patch. Looks like im gnna
post on the bnet boards. A longshot.. but maybe...

Please report back if you do find a solution. As I mentioned, there are
others with the same problem.

i put the file in question of error 1 in the recycle bin.

Oddness. TFTP1180 was located in the startup folder, and
had a total size of 0 bytes.

I just did that this morning. maybe it'll effect my second
problem? who knows. The first one stopped :-).
Obviously.

I'm gonna hold off on deleting it though. just in case.
