2 copies on XP on 1 HD

Hi
I have 2 copies of xp on one HD how do i remove one of them?

will just deleteing one from windows explorer mess me up?

If you can,go for it however you probably will get denied.If so,simply boot
to
xp cd,recovery,press enter for password,select 1 For C: Type:DiskPart,in
DiskPart delete the unwanted,create a partition,press ESC key when
thru,either type:EXIT Or
type:FORMAT D: /FS:NTFS D: Being the new partition you created in DiskPart

This is absolute rubbish for the problem at hand, Andrew E. and could be
downright dangerous for the system.

To the OP, disregard anything Andrew E. has to say. He is one of our
resident newsgroup trolls. His advice varies from the innocuous to the
ridiculous to the dangerous.
 
For instance, you have Windows XP 1 on C Drive and Windows XP 2 on D Drive
and you want to get rid from WX1. You must understand that C is your Boot
Partition for both windows. So, I will suggest you to remove the Windows of
your D Drive. First take a backup of your all data reside on My Documents,
Desktop and other folders on your D Drive.

You can use 2 methods:

Deleting the Documents and Settings, Program Files and Windows folders while
logging in to Windows 1.

or

Format the D Drive after take a complete backup.

Later you have will face a problem of having 2 choices at the boot menu even
after removing a Windows. So, you will need to configure your BOOT.INI. You
can do this by Right-clicking on My Computer - choose Properties - click
Advanced tab - click Settings and Startup and Recovery. Delete the line
corresponding to your second window e.g.

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP
Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

Partition(2) means D drive. Delete the line carefully. Save the changes and
restart your computer.

Stop this . This is not the first time you gave this exact same answer to someone with the same issue. It is a very dangerous step to do. If you want to help then please do not post or answer correctly which you are not capable to do most of the time
