for some reason my partners phone won't synchronise with his pc. I don't
really want multiple users on my pc so is there any way to put a 2nd
calendar on outlook. I can add a 2nd address book folder without problems

What version of Outlook? You can create a secondary calendar in your
Outlook profile by just right-clicking any folder, selecting New Folder, and
following the rest of the instructions given...but he probably won't be able
to sync to that calendar either, if that's what he's hoping to do.
Depending on your Outlook version, you could possibly create a new mail
profile for your partner, which would allow him his own set of data
including a primary calendar folder, and he may be able to sync to that.

No, sorry didn't make myself clear as usual! the phone synchs fine to my pc
but of course he doesn't want MY apartments on his phone, hence why I wanted
a second calendar. I actually created the 2nd folder with calendar details
in it but I can't get into it from outlook. When I go on to folders/new, I
can see the folder there but can't see it anywhere else

I'm afraid I'm not following you in your last reply. In your first message,
you said you wanted a second calendar in Outlook. In your second message
you said you created this folder, but you can't get to it from Outlook. If
you created it IN Outlook, how can you not get to it FROM Outlook? Also,
I'm not sure what you mean by "When I go on to folders/new"...that doesn't
sound like any command I'm familiar with. Could you please list the exact
steps you took to create this folder, and what you are doing to try to view
it after you've created it? Please use very specific terms and command
names -- for example, "I right-clicked on the Calendar folder in the Folder
List, and then I chose New Folder from the popup menu".
