I've had the common problem with the subsystem error. I have no virus (no
trojan), I have copied the files from my repair file as well as tried copying
them from the XP disk itself, and the only thing that has worked is the patch
from Kelly's Korner http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_m.htm#16bit

However, my problem is that it only works while I'm logged in for that
session. After rebooting I have the same problem and need to run the patch
if I am to use a 16 bit program. I'm annoyed beyond belief. Thank heavens
for Kelly's site, but any advice on what to do from here?
Thanks, Chris!

Did you read the rest of the 16Bit issues on Kelly's website? There are
spyware programs that can cause this behavior.
In addition to that info, there is yet another issue that has been
documented.

The autoexec.nt file in C:\WINDOWS\system32 can be deleted by a malware
program called WinAdTools.

Look for this program in the Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs and remove
it.

You should also use one or both of the following programs to clean and
maintain the system.

AdAware SE

Spybot
http://security.kolla.de/

Thanks for the help. loaded Adware SE, it found 173 ad files...after I
selected and Quarentined them everything worked as normal. Thanks again!
