Windows XP 11th Hour playing problem

Does anyone remember playing this game?? I am having trouble understanding how to make the moving hand do its job. I bought the game 2nd hand & have no manual. The game is riddle after riddle to get thru it & has a gameboard which you go to to answer each riddle. For some reason I don't understand how to make the hand type in the answer to the riddle. Also, sometimes you must pick up objects but I can't make the hand do the picking up. Would appreciate any help since I have just gotten it installed & can't go any further than the opening!!

Yes I know about this site but it did not tell me about typing on the keyboard. Thanks for checking into it for me. I have email them for help but they have not replied. So I am still in need of help!!

Can you rule out that its not a compatibilty issue between this (fairly old) game, and your newer machine?

Perhaps running it in an emulator might help?, check out this guide, skip to the bit about "DOS Box", its worth a try if you can't find another solution:
