100mb zip drive with windows xp professional

pls help,
after connecting an Iomega zip drive 100 (it is about 5 yrs
old) mb to my new computer it slowed down. it took about
20 minutes to boot up.
 
I don't know about the boot up sequence, but Iomega does
recognize a problem with 'slow transfer' between the
external zip drives and the cpu. There is a free download
fix @ Iomega's web site to fix this problem. It solves
the slow transfer rate so it operates more like an
internal drive (quick). This may be part of your problem
if windows is looking at the zip upon startup and is stuck
in the slow transfer bog.
