Hello,

I have a windows xp machine and I am using powerpoint 2002

I have 1000's of slides and I would like to have them all
together. I would also like to make sure that once the
order has been created that they stay that way, along with
being able to cut and paste new ones in to that pre-sorted
order with out the pre-defined order getting out of order.

Also, when I pulled a couple of hundred pictures into
powerpoint the machine started moving very slow, while
attempting to move a couple of pictures around.

Thanks,

Jason

PowerPoint uses a lot of resources and you are asking it to do a lot of work.
Can you tell us about your system? What is the processor speed, the amount of
memory, free disk space, etc? What video card do you have? Have you check for
fragmented disks? Have you cleaned out your Temp folder?

It sounds like you might need a presentation library where you could store all
of your slides and then access them based on content. Presentation Librarian is
a possible product - - http://www.accent-technologies.com/
