"1 unread email message." won't go away.

I recently purchased a new laptop. My husband and I are separate users.
Under his logon, it says "1 unread email message", but there is no unread
email message, and it won't go away. I would appreciate any help or advice
anyone might give as to why this is happening and what we can do to fix it.

Hi,

After installing Tweakui, go to Start - All Programs - Powertoys for Windows XP to open
Tweakui.

Then go to Repair and select 'Repair unread mail count' and click Repair Now.

Reboot the system and see if the unread mail count is correct.
