What are these please?

Over the past two months, apps that are stored on my SD Card have suddenly changed to these. The only way to restore the apps is to uninstall, and then install again. They look a little like the SD Maid app but having contacted them an agent responded that he didn't have any idea what they were. It has been suggested that I need a newer SD card or purchase a phone with more capacity so I do not need to use the SD card. Any advice would be appreciated. I do not have enough capacity on the phone to move the apps from the SD Card

How do you connect the SD card to your phone?
