people keep showing all these bloated multiple desktop interfaces for the
lates linux distro as if its some kind of vista comparison.... guys, get
over it.... its never going to happen

My response:
Sorry Troy, you forget 1 thing.
Features that are added by microsoft as being 'new features' aren't new at
all, they are copied from other OS'es.
So if you look at those other OS'es now, you'll see the future because they
are way ahead on Vista.
Because they don't have the money for marketing/commercials, it is going to
happen in about maybe a year or 2 when Microsoft copies again and introduce
those 3d desktops as "new feature from microsoft"
Most people don't know this because they see the commercials and think it is
really new, but off course we know, it isn't at all.

Microsoft and Apple have openly admitted to copying off of each other for
years.. get over it.. they have..

The GUI was in evidence before either Apple or MS had one.. try Xerox or
GEM.. all GUI's were based on them..

You're right - why complain. We all benefit from that on both sides.

GEM.. all GUI's were based on them..

Or Atari ST which came out before GEM.

And don't forget that one of the two steves, I don't remember which is the
technical one, actually started by working at Atari and took what he was
working on there as the basis for the original single-board computer that
was the first Apple.
