Very strange link problem

I'm working on a web site on my computer with FP2003 and have not published
it yet. Am using Interactive buttons for the navigation system. Have about
20 pages and set up 13 buttons as the main navigation tool. One of the pages
is a Glossary page which is mostly text and has a couple of buttons on it,
but not the main navigation buttons.

Everything was working fine, then all of a sudden, links stopped working to
the Glossary page. In preview mode and using IE browser, I could click on
the button and it was like it had no link defined to it and I would not get a
"click" sound that I would with the working buttons. Nothing would happen
when you'd click on it.

I had been making changes to the button properties and changed the button
type once so I figured I gobered something up along the way. So I went back
through all of the buttons on one page to make sure they were the way I
wanted them did "cut & paste" and copied this code over the existing button
code on all the other pages. Still, no links worked to the Glossary page,
although all the other links worked fine. I deleted all of the buttons that
linked to the Glossary page, created one Glossary button, making sure I did
it correctly, then copied the code for the Glossary button to all of the
other pages. The Glossary links still wouldn't work.

I then created some text, using no image or button, and linked it to the
Glossary page. This wouldn't work either. Looked at the code for the text
link and it looks OK to me.

The really strange part is that if I stay in Design mode (instead of
Preview) and select any of the Glossary links, while pressing CNTL, they all
work just like they are supposed to, both the buttons and the text link.

Anybody got any ideas.

Always use File Preview in browser
- the FP preview mode is not a full browser and does not support many scripts

There is also a bug in some versions of FP (caused by an IE patch) preventing hyperlinks from working in Preview mode

Don, when you changed the navigation buttons on the Glossary page did you
uncheck "Overwrite" on the Image tab. It is possible that you simply
overwrote the old buttons. I do that occasionally and have to reconstruct
the buttons. Since FP doesn't allow you to name the images it is often
difficult to tell which ones are being affected.

I don't remeber which way they were saved when I was making some of the
original changes, but I do know I got confused a couple of times because the
wrong images were coming up. That's when I decided to delete all of the
Glossary buttons and recreate them, so the latest images did not have the
overwrite option since they were all new.

Thanks Stefan, I tried it in Opera and everything works OK so it must be the
IE patch that was causing the problem. I'll try the fix.
