SharePoint 2003 Installation

After installing, I am not able to access Central Administration, getting
access denied. The error I am getting is: #30002: Error 5 opening registry
key "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Web Server Extensions\Secure\ConfigDb".
I queried this on the web and the only answers were check the default key,
which was not set, so I manually set it. I also checked the Application Pool
in the properties and set it to: DefaultAppPool. I restarted IIS. I still
cannot access Central Administration. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
