Playing CD Tracks w/ no Sound Card

D

David

I do not have a cound card, but on my prior computer that
had Windows 00, I was able to play audio tracks from a CD
by plugging in my headphones into the jack in the front
of the CD-ROM drive. Now that I have upgraded to XP, I
am not able to play CD audio tracks.

Does anyone know how I would be able to do this?

Get a soundcard, you can bid on one at eBay for as little as $5.00
Radio Shack, Circuit City, Best Buy all have them. You don't need a fancy one,
just one that will do the main thing that you want. It just snaps into a PCI slot in
your PC and you can plug in speakers or a headset for exquisite sound.
If you have a soundcard on the motherboard, disable it.

To answer the question, I think if you set your media player to Analog
playback this should work.
