Network Issue mshome.net

B

Big Brian

Hi

Have two PCS which I am trying to network together

PC1:- Has an ADSL Connection to Internet. And a USB connection to a home
network

PC2 :- HAs a USB connection to home network

My network is set up as a ID of FEAST
PC2 can access the Internet via ICS on PC1
PC2 and PC1 can ping each other in DOS

PC1 is 192.168.0.1
PC2 is 192.168.0.10

Both have Subnet of 255.255.255.0

PC2 ha sa gateway of 192.168.01
PC2 has a DNS Suffix of mshome.net

I think this is where the problem is.

How do I change the DNS Suffix to be blank.

We wish to share files and a printer on PC1

normally, ICS assigns the IP and DNS to the client. Since you can ping each other, you should be able to share files and printers by using the IP if you can't do that using the hostname.

I have tried turning ICS on and off. Tried running wizards on both PC`s

Its just this DNS Suffix on PC2 I cnat get rid off

We can surf the net from either PC.

Its the file sharing and printing taht is the issue

Do i need to have matching DNS Suffix , and if not , how do I drop from
PC2
