I am running Windows 98 and IE 6. I can't delete history
from internet potions. I have tried shutting down IE and
deleting history from the internet options in the control
panel. This doesn't work either. Can anyone give me a
solution to this problem that won't mess up some other
operation? Thank you

If that's not your situation, you probably have a damaged History folder. To
delete the History folder and allow a new one to be created:
-- Win 98 --
Restart in MS-DOS mode
From C:\> type and press Enter after each command

cd\windows
smartdrv
deltree tempor~1
deltree history

Restart via Ctrl-Alt-Delete
