Wireless Connection

I have a laptop and I'm trying to find out if I can use it at Starbucks and
Panera and if so how? Do I need any special software or do I just connect to
theirs? I don't understand how it works...obviously.

Hi
If the Computer has a Wireless card that is functional and active you click
on the Tray bar Network icon.
A popup menu would open with all the neighborhood Wireless Signal would
show.
You then click on the Starbucks connection and it should connect.
Please Note that you will be able to connect only to Open networks that do
not need password to connect (like the starbucks).
If a network is secured you have ask the owner for the security parameters
before you can attempt to connect.
