shuts down when virus scanning

I've a problem with Norton virus, I can not finish the virus scanner it
shuts down inbetween, i don't know what was the problem, Recently i had a
windows update and latest virus def download as well

you might have spy ware or a virus...try disconnect from internet and run a
scan then reconnect and see if it still does it...just my 2 cents...
