Proxy on Win2K?

D

Dave

I have an old NT4 domain. One server has Microsoft Proxy
2 running on it, and I know that is not supported or
marketed by Microsoft any longer.
What is the current offering to accomplish proxy
functions? I have been told that now is the time to make
my proxy server a Linux/squid box, but I would rather not
mix... unless that is the right thing to do.

Any advice is appreciated!

Recently we needed to change our old proxy server (Wingate).

Was recommended by our tech support people to look at Squid. There is
a Windows version available and we had it downloaded, installed and
operational in under an hour (including working out how to set it up)

I needed to upgrade my proxy program as the old one (Wingate) was not
compatible with the new company system.

Was recommended that we took a look at Squid as they now have a
Windows version. Had it downloaded, then up and running within an hour
under W2K. Also have it running under W2K Server..
