Hi all --

I have setup a network with a Linksys 802.11b "wireless access point router"
on my desktop with a Linksys 802.11b wireless card for my laptop. The
desktop is hard-wired to the router, the laptop (obviously) uses wireless
access. Both computers are running Win XP.

Here's the problem: Most of the time, I can access the Internet fine with
the wireless connection on my laptop. Sometimes, however, I cannot access
the Internet at all, and I cannot seem to isolate what causes the
difference. I have had instances where I successfully accessed the Internet
on my laptop through the wireless connection, then shut down the laptop and
come back to it later, to find that I can no longer access the Internet,
even though I haven't moved the computer and I have an 'excellent'
connection at 11Mbps.

I'm a relative newcomer to networking, so I'm at a loss here. Has anyone
else run into a similar situation, and have any ideas how to fix it?

Thanks in advance,

Anthony

Hi Darren --

Thanks for the input. I actually tried this not long before I read your
message, and it worked. I was unable to connect to the web-based
configuration for the router through the wireless, but I was able to do it
through a hard-wire connection. So, I reset the configuration, and
everything seems to be working now. I'll be sure to write that down for the
future!
