Windows Vista Unable to open attachments - "this file cannot be traced"

Since downloading and installing Updates to Vista Home Premium a few days ago - including Internet Explorer 8 - I am unable to read e-mail attachments. I receive the message "this file cannot be traced" Any solutions please?
 
Hi Richard,

Can you please give us some more information

What email client are you using

Version Office

What service packs etc.

What attachments cant you open

Have you tried saving them to another location and opening them?
