Multiple DVD Writers - Configuration OK?

Currently, I have a CD ('D' drive) and a CD/DVD +R/RW ('E' drive) on my XP
PRO sp1 computer.

I am thinking about purchasing an additional DVD (external USB) writer
with -R/RW, +R/RW capability.
Will the 3 drives co-exist?
Any other tips or traps to be aware of?

TIA.
 
The reason that I am asking is that I remember when I ordered the computer
Dell said something about not being able to have the 'first' drive being a
DVD and not being able to copy DVD to DVD.
Unfortunately, I no longer have any notes that I made at the time.
