Windows XP Memory Resident Programmes

In windows there used to be a menu or programme that showed all the programmes which started with the computer and which you could remove programmes from

I have too many programmes that start up automatically (steam, channel 4, google updater)

How do I reduce them.
 
I think you're looking for the "msconfig" tool (type it into the run box) and then select the startup tab. Be careful that you unselect only the things you don't need :thumb:
