why can't i get my sony camcorder, sat nav, or my logitech webcam too run on my laptop which has a pre installed version of Vista, all of which works well enough on the old pc with xp i have been told that it's the drivers but cannot find anywhere to download . help please!

It does sound like you need the drivers for them. If you list the specific models of each bit of hardware here, I might be able to find them for you.

thanks for that.
they are the following
the Logitech quick cam communicate stx 8.0.1
the Sony sat nav nv-u50t
and the Sony camcorder version 1.5 the original drivers for this were the spvd-010
I hope this will be everything that you need thanks again.

I too had problems. I went on to each manufacturer's website and downloaded the drivers from there. Eventually everything that worked with XP now works with Vista - and some of the equipment is quite old! :)
