Trying to limit 5 DCOM applications on a W2K SP3 to use specific ports in
the range 50000-50005. Set DCOM Default protocols to TCP/IP and set Internet
Range to 50000-50005. Set each of the 5 DCOM applications to use the
Internet Range individually. Set Dynamic Port allocation to the IntRAnet
range. Expected my DCOM apps to use Internet range but found it is using
IntRAnet range. Why?

When I set Dynamic Port allocation to use the IntERnet range then everything
else on the box also uses this range and there are no ports left for my
apps.

Is there a bug in the way DCOMCNFG is implemented or is it just counter
intuitive?
