Does anyone know what the cidaemon.exe process does? I
recently found that it is using 100% of my CPU. While it
is running at a low priority, I still have a concern that
it shouldn't be using so much system resources.

Thank you,

Chris

This is the Indexing Service, which catalogues all of the files on your hard
disk(s) to make searches faster. Unless you do a lot of searches, you
probably don't need this, and it is known to put an unnecessary drain on
resources.

If you don't like it, you can disable it in Control Panel
Administrative
Tools > Services.

Thank you,

Chris
