Since upgrading to SP1 I have been able to get automatic update to work
although it will not download all available updates. It is set to download
the updates and notify me when they are ready to be installed. This is does,
although only "critical updates and service packs" are downloaded, with the
"windows xp" and "driver updates" left not downloaded. Is this standard or
is there a setting I can change to get it to download all available updates?

Many thanks

Hi,

That's the way it is supposed to work. There is no way I know of to add
optional features to the autoupdate routine, it will only download those
identified as critical.
