You do not have necessary Permissions To use …

I’ve added several new Groups to a previously secured database. The database
has a front end and back end mbd’s that were secured with the same system.mdw
After creating the new groups, I’ve assigned group permissions to the
various objects (i.e. tables queries, macros, reports) for the newly created
groups in both the front end and back end mdb files.

Now I’m unable to log into the front end or back end database with users
that belong to one of the new groups. When I attempt to login the following
message appears:

You do not have necessary permissions to use "C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Documents\Paint Shop\ PEC\PEC 2003 04.mdb’ object. Have your system
administrator or the person who created this object establish the appropriate
permissions for you.

Users that belong to the old groups (i.e. group created when database was
secured) are able to log in with no problem.

I use a shortcut to open the application with the following target:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\MSACCESS.EXE" "C:\Documents and
Settings\All Users\Documents\Paint Shop\PEC\PEC 2003 04.mdb" /Wrkgrp
"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Paint Shop\SYSTEM.MDW"

Any idea why I’m unable to login with users assigned to the new groups while
at the same time have no problem logging in with users assigned to the old
groups?

Problem solved. I forgot to assign permissions to the "Database" object for
the new groups.
