XP Welcome screen e-mail count

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is the appropriate forum for this, but here goes...

I've just migrated my e-mail account from the hotmail.com domain to the new
hotmail.co.uk one. This seems to have created 2 problems:

1. The welcome screen shows a message count for the new mail address that
is not correct. The only way of clearing it seems to be manually via the
UnreadMessages registry key.

2. When I have signed in to MSN Messenger, when I click on the 'My E-mail
Inbox' menu item, instead of going directly to the Hotmail inbox for the new
account I have to sign-in to Passport again (even if I check the box for
automatic sign-in). This is not unique to my e-mail address as I set up an
account for my wife at the same time and she has the same sign-in problems.

Is anyone aware of a fix for this behaviour?

Thanks!

Use TweakUI - one of the XP Powertoys from
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

Once installed you will find it in Start - All Programs - Powertoys for
Windows XP

Its Logon - Unread Mail page has a check box to turn the 'facility'
right off
