Xp stops responding

My computer is tarting to piss me off to the poijt where
I want to get rid of it. I've been running windows 200
for a couple years, and I loved it. When I bought my new
computer, I was having really bug troubles with windows
2k. It would randomly stop responding and I would have to
restart. I decided that it was time to upgrade to XP. So,
thats what I did. XP hasnt helped. The first thing I did
was switch to all microsoft certified drivers, didnt
help. The next thign I did was start to swap out the
hardware. I used my friends computer to swap out one part
at a time, and I cant find anything wrong with the
hardware. The only thing that isnt supposed to be
compatible (but is thanks to a bios upgrade) is my ram.
I'm at a complete lost. Heres my system specs:
Intel P4 2.53Ghz (533 FSB)
Soyo PX400 Ultra
Kingston HyperX PC3200 512mb
Asus G4 ti4200 128mb 8x
Soundblaster Audigy Gamer

Any help you guys can give would be great. My next step
is just to either sell it to someone or take it to a
Professional and pay the $150 to get a complete fix on it.

Joe,

Before you take it to a $$$ Professional (who may or may not be able
to fix the problem), make sure you don't have a virus or other malware
causing the symptom.

If you don't have a good current virus scanner, do an online scan at:

Next, run Spybot S&D then HijackThis. Start with this article:

Make Virus Protection and Spyware Protection a routine part of your
computer.

Cheers,

Chuck
