Gateway PC that recently started shutting down spontaneously. Used system
restore to roll back to restore point, which temporarily fixes problem (for
about a week or so).

Error dump displays:
driver_irql_not_less_or_equal

System is stable in Safe mode (w/networking). Would like to copy files from
pc to laptop through shared files (through router), which worked before this
problem.

Any suggestions on getting file sharing to work while in safe mode?

Microsoft indicates that you have a unknown driver
problem. You can get more inforation by opening up event
viewer.
Need help? Open up help and support and search for "event
viewer"

Look for red colored events that in application and
system that relate to time of your error and open, that
will give you a module(program) maybe a .dll also. Use
Search companion to look up that program name to isolate
what is giving you a problem. You can also past that info
here by selecting double document icon(below down & up
arrows)Then select microsoft
link. Repy yes. That will open up help and support(if you
have an internet connection} If need be, paste
here at this newsgroup.

There should be more to the error message than just the name. In
particular the 4 parameters that follow the STOP error code are direct
clues as to the underlying cause of the error.

See MVP Jim Eshelman's web page for STOP errors at
http://www.aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm and click on the "0A: IRQL Not
Less/Equal" link at the top of the left side column.

Good luck
