XP Running Very slow, taskmgr.exe running 25% or so

I have a computer with Windows XP that is running very slow, everything is
slow. Won't play music through Mediaplayer very well, all windows open
slow, etc.

When I open Task Manager, the Idle process is running around 60% (changing a
lot) and the taskmgr.exe is running around 25 to 30%.

Where can I look to figure out why the taskmrg.exe is taking up so much
time?

Sounds to me like something more is going on your
machine. I would run Ad Aware to search for spyware.

Then, make sure your anti-virus program is up-to-date.
