XP Professional with SP2

I have U.S. Robotics 56k modem. Before I installed SP2 I
had no problems with surfing on the web. Baut after
installation, there were some problems after I connect to
the Internet. The computer acts like it stops responding,
no Ctrl+Alt+Del option available. I turned the firewall
off and now everything is doing well. Can anyone help me
with this problem?
