I just re-installed XP Pro on my computer. The original install was
actually an upgrade to Win 98SE. I did ot have to use a password when
booting up previously to this new install. I am the only user on my
home computer and I do not need a password. I do a restart and do
something else and when I return it is hung waiting for me to insert
the password. I would appreciate any help in getting rid of the
password, even though it logs me on as the administrator. I would like
a seemless bootup all the way to my desk top.

.. Go to the Start Menu and the Run box.
.. Type in the following:
control userpasswords2
.. now click OK
.. In the new Windows that appears select the account you wish to make the
primary logon.
.. Now uncheck the "Users must enter a username and password..." box.
.. Hit Apply and a dialog box will appear asking you to confirm the
selected users password.

Click OK.
The changes will work the next time you restart your computer.
